Can you jog a mile in 10 mins for Children in Need?
The well-being charity, Mason Mile, will be hosting a special event on Heather House Field, Bicknor Road in Park Wood, Maidstone on the 16th November to raise money for BBC Children in Need.
The event will be held with support from Golding Vision, the community arm of Golding Homes, and Wellbeing People.
The event will take part throughout the day, from 10am until 4pm, with a total of 6 runs on the hour, with fun smoothie making activities alongside this. The foundation aims to raise in excess of £5,000 for Children in Need, and this will mean that participation across Maidstone is key to achieving this. For each under 13 child attending, the Mason Mile will donate between £2 and 50p, dependant on completion time. Adults and children over the age of 13 are encouraged to make a small donation to the BBC Children in Need collectors, who will be located around the event.
“We believe that it is possible for everyone to be able to walk and run a mile and we are keen to use our skills and resources to encourage families and young people to come together to have fun, get active and raise money for BBC Children in Need.” - Says Stephen Mason, Founder of the Mason Mile.
Caroline McBride, Head of Community Development at Golding Homes, said: “Golding Vision is proud to be sponsoring this event and we are really looking forward to the day. You don’t have to be a runner to get involved and we hope the event will inspire people to take up more exercise as part of a journey towards a healthier lifestyle.”
