Maidstone and Mid Kent Mind Christmas Hours and Services
As we all look forward towards the Christmas festivities, it is important to remember that some people may struggle during the Winter months – and may be prone to feelings of loneliness during the holiday period. It’s important, as we all prepare to settle down and tuck into our Christmas Dinners or open presents with our families, that we spare a moment to consider those who may be struggling.
Sometimes, checking in with a mate and asking them if they are OK can really make a difference – especially around this time of year when others may be struggling more than they let on.
Here at Maidstone and Mid-Kent Mind, we appreciate the importance of the services which we offer to people who look for routine and peer-to-peer support, so we aim to ensure that our services run as effectively as possible during the Christmas period.
MMK Mind will be open on the 23rd of December and the 24th of December for special Festive Social Groups from 12pm till 2pm. We will then be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and the 27th, 28th and 29th of December. We will then be open, again from 12pm till 2pm, on Monday the 30th of December and Tuesday the 31st of December, before closing on Wednesday the 1st of January. Normal services will then commence again as of Thursday the 2nd of January.
In addition to MMK Mind, there are several other sources of support which people can access during the festive period.
Release the Pressure should be accessible 24/7 throughout the period – and can be accessed by phoning on 0800 107 0160. Samaritans will also be available throughout the period – with support available on 116 123. If you feel lonely or as though you may struggle this Christmas, please reach out to the support which is out there.
We hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and look forward to sharing even more of our support with you in the New Year!
